Strength and Endurance
Sierra Riley
Academic Advisor & Tutor
Sierra, from a very young age, has been very determined when it came to academics. She has always wanted to become a nurse. However, life took her down a different path, which led her to graduate from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in health behavior science.
After graduating, she was fortunate to gain employment at a doctor’s office as a medical assistant. While working as a medical assistant, she gained vast knowledge about the healthcare system. With the support of family and employers, she was accepted into UNLV, where she is currently working on earning her master’s in healthcare administration.
Thoughts
I was raised in New Castle, Delaware, by a family who instilled in me that “the sky is the limit.” Since volunteering in high school, I have had a passion for tutoring and helping children explore the unlimited options they have available when thinking about their future. I am excited to help the children excel with their academics and in their future.
I have plans to expose the children to what their future can look like based on their passions. I also cannot wait to introduce them to the college atmosphere. This aligns with the objectives of this organization’s mission to “provide educational tutoring and mentorship that promote and encourage further education and higher learning.”
