Calvin Davis

 Calvin’s love for sports was part of his DNA from his early years in Delaware.  If you ask him what his source of character shaping was, he will point to his upbringing, varied sports experiences, and how they influenced his outlook regarding social tolerance, teamwork, leadership, determination and perseverance.  These character traits formed a foundation that lead to him completing a distinguished career in the Air Force, where he held a Top-Secret Security Clearance and worked in the F-117 Stealth Fighter program. Since leaving the Air Force, he has progressed through the ranks of a Fortune 500 company to his current position of Sr. National Operations Manager.

Calvin started running in middle school where the 400m and 800m races were his specialty.  He later grew to love distance running.  He describes running as a quiet peacefulness that brings not only physical benefits but also mental wholeness.

When his children started running in USATF and High School, Calvin had the opportunity to support several high school and youth track and cross-country teams.  The time Calvin spent running, supporting and coaching his children shapes his desire to help others develop their running skills today.

Calvin is a highly respected person that is highly regarded for his integrity.  His desire to give back makes it especially satisfying to work with youth and those in need.  He and his wife Naomi share this love which makes them the perfect partners in all they do.  While Calvin is heavily invested in his career, he is equally committed to serving the community.  Here he has held leadership positions such as a Church Deacon, Sabbath School Teacher, Youth Group Counselor, Director, Coach and even Activity Leader for the Ameri-Asian Committee while he was stationed in South Korea.

Calvin and Naomi’s shared vision of creating a team that allows youth to excel in track and field and cross country running, is the reason they established the Las Vegas Elite Runners.  Calvin acts as Director/Media Coordinator  where he is committed to recording the accomplishments and history of the club and supporting the common goal of securing scholarships and educational opportunities for our youth.
